Cumberland County: Cumberland County’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program
The Cumberland County Affordable Housing Trust Fund First Time Homebuyers Down Payment and Closing Cost Assistance Program can provide up to $5,000 in assistance to income qualified first time homebuyers who purchase single family homes in Cumberland County. The assistance is in the form of a five year, no interest, forgivable loan. The assistance can be used toward the purchase price of the house and/or closing costs. Click here to learn more.

Additional Information: The buyer must apply for the County’s assistance program. The buyer must qualify by the gross annual household income. Once the buyer is approved, the funds are reserved for the buyer for six months. The County’s assistance is a $3 to $1 match of the buyers own funds up to the maximum of $5,000. The program is funded for the calendar year but funds are limited. Applications are accepted throughout the year and a waiting list is established if funds are not immediately available.
